This small glamping retreat is looking for a reliable and practical person or couple to stay on site at a family farm in the Herefordshire countryside. The retreat has cabins and seasonal glamping accommodation, with a local team already taking care of housekeeping, cleaning, bookings and the usual daily operations.

The main purpose of the role is to have someone based on the farm who can respond when guests occasionally need assistance. It is well suited to someone independent and sensible who enjoys rural surroundings and would like plenty of free time.

Tasks & Roles

The main responsibility is to respond to occasional guest call-outs. These may involve helping with a hot tub, heating, electricity or another straightforward problem in one of the accommodation units. The hosts will explain how the equipment works and provide guidance on the most common issues and simple solutions.

No specialist qualifications are required. The ideal person should be practical and comfortable looking into a problem, following instructions and deciding when further help is needed. If an issue cannot be resolved, they can contact the hosts or the relevant local tradesperson.

Guest interaction is also part of the role, so a friendly and calm manner is important. Most guests are couples visiting for a peaceful countryside break, and providing helpful, courteous assistance is valued.

Call-outs are occasional, and there is normally little to do between them. Optional help with light DIY, gardening, maintenance or projects around the farm may be available for anyone who would like to get involved, but this is not the main requirement.

Living & Getting There

The volunteer will have their own static caravan on the family farm. It includes a bedroom, living area, kitchen, bathroom, storage and a suitable space for sitting or working. Bedding and towels are provided, and nearby toilet and shower facilities are also available. Starlink Wi-Fi is provided for internet access.

The closest airports are Bristol Airport (BRS) and Birmingham Airport (BHX). The nearest railway stations are Hereford, Ledbury and Gloucester. Own transport is required for this opportunity.

On arrival, the hosts will provide an introduction to the farm, accommodation and equipment. They will also explain what to do in different situations and who to contact if a problem requires additional assistance.
