This animal rescue foundation provides volunteers with the opportunity to support sick and injured animals as they recover and receive medical care. Volunteers become part of the team helping with the daily running of the rescue centre, while gaining an insight into the work of a veterinary hospital.
The placement is ideal for people who care about animal welfare and want to play a practical role in supporting animals in need. Volunteers are an important part of the team, helping ensure that the centre can provide its patients with the attention and care they require.
Tasks & Roles
Volunteers help with the everyday care of the animals staying at the centre. Their duties include cleaning, feeding, bathing and spending time playing and socialising with the inpatients. The aim is to keep the animals comfortable, happy and well cared for while they recover.
Volunteers can also become involved in animal rescue activities and see how a veterinary hospital operates on a daily basis. Depending on the work taking place during their stay, they may have the opportunity to observe medical treatment and live surgical procedures.
Living & Getting There
Accommodation is provided in two guest houses located just a one-minute walk from the clinic. Each house has two bedrooms and can accommodate up to four people, with a maximum of eight volunteers across both houses. The bedrooms have air conditioning and the bathrooms are shared.
The two houses share an outdoor Thai-style kitchen and laundry facilities. Wi-Fi is available at both the clinic and guest houses. Volunteers are asked to contribute €7 per person per day, which covers accommodation, lunch and a volunteer uniform. As the foundation is a non-profit organisation operating with limited funds, this contribution helps support its ongoing work. The fee is paid directly to the foundation when the stay is agreed.
The nearest airport is Suvarnabhumi Airport, also known as Bangkok International Airport (BKK). The quickest option is to take a taxi from the airport, which takes around 1 hour and 30 minutes and costs approximately €30. A cheaper alternative is to take a bus from the airport to Pattaya Jomtien Bus Terminal and then continue by taxi. This journey takes around 2 hours and 40 minutes and costs approximately €15–18 in total.
What else
The local area has several convenience shops, small Thai restaurants and coffee shops within walking distance. A daily market is around 15 minutes away on foot, offering Thai food, snacks, fresh fruit and vegetables.
The nearest beach is approximately 10 minutes away by taxi. Jomtien can be reached in around 20 minutes, while Pattaya is about 30 minutes away. Both offer a wide choice of restaurants, shops, night markets and entertainment.
There are also several attractions nearby, including two water parks, a temple and go-karting facilities. This gives volunteers plenty of opportunities to explore the area and enjoy their free time alongside their work at the animal rescue centre.
