Participants in this work exchange in Mexico become part of a small, active project where construction and garden care run alongside each other. A dedicated construction team is currently building a second house using natural adobe techniques, and volunteers assist wherever possible. Daily tasks include supporting construction work, tending to the tropical garden through planting, watering, composting, and general upkeep, and taking part in woodworking or carpentry projects when desired. This experience provides a practical introduction to sustainable living practices, permaculture principles, and natural building methods, making it ideal for those who enjoy outdoor work and hands-on learning.
Work Exchange in Mexico: Living & Getting There
Accommodation is provided in a large tipi-style tent on-site, offering a simple and immersive living experience close to nature. Volunteers share a communal kitchen, and bathroom facilities are nearing completion. The property is shared with other volunteers, fostering a small community atmosphere. The nearest airport is Puerto Escondido International Airport (PXM). From there, volunteers can take a colectivo to Puertecito, or transport directly to the property can be arranged if preferred.
