This opportunity invites travellers to volunteer on a vineyard in the hills of northern Italy, experiencing a peaceful rural lifestyle. Massimiliano and his business partner, Riccardo, live here with their two dogs, Echo and Ettore, surrounded by vineyards, vegetable gardens, and open countryside. The location offers both tranquility and convenience, with the nearest village only a few minutes away and Milan less than an hour’s drive. Guests are welcomed to share in daily life, enjoying authentic hospitality, home-cooked meals, music, and the stunning natural surroundings.
Volunteer on a Vineyard: Tasks & Roles
Volunteers who volunteer on a vineyard participate in a variety of daily activities, including caring for animals, tending vegetable gardens, and assisting in the vineyards and cellar. Additional responsibilities include helping maintain communal areas of the house and occasionally supporting local events or fairs. Tasks are flexible and tailored to the volunteer and hosts’ needs, ensuring a balanced routine. The focus is on collaboration, creativity, and sharing in the community spirit of rural life.
Volunteer on a Vineyard: Living & Getting There
Accommodation is offered in shared rooms, a cosy caravan, or a charming country house, providing comfort and immersion in the rural environment. Volunteers have access to communal living areas, the kitchen, and outdoor spaces, with meals shared with the hosts. The nearest airport is Milan Malpensa (MXP), with additional options at other Milan airports. From the airport, visitors can take a train to Tortona station, where the hosts will meet them. As the farm is in a remote location, daily excursions without a car are limited, enhancing the immersive experience of rural life.
Volunteer on a Vineyard: What Else
Life on the farm moves at a slower, more enjoyable pace. Guests can play music, sing karaoke, experiment with recipes, and enjoy sunsets over the vineyards. This experience allows volunteers to fully engage in sustainable farming practices, hospitality, and local culture. Those who volunteer on a vineyard will gain hands-on experience, build meaningful connections, and enjoy a creative, enriching, and peaceful environment away from the bustle of city life.
