Live in Portugal: Volunteer at a Surf & Stay Resort

Volunteer at a Resort with Free Surf Lessons and Accommodation (Portugal)

If you’ve ever dreamed of a chance to live in Portugal, this is your opportunity to do so while gaining hands-on experience in the hospitality industry. Nestled on the coast of central-western Portugal, just over an hour north of Lisbon, this vibrant resort invites volunteers to join a multicultural team dedicated to offering guests a warm and welcoming stay. Volunteers enjoy the chance to form new friendships, develop practical skills, and create lasting memories in one of Europe’s most scenic coastal regions.

Live in Portugal: Tasks & Roles

During their stay, volunteers support the resort by assisting with key daily operations. Tasks include maintaining cleanliness in guest rooms and shared spaces, helping with breakfast service in the bar and restaurant, and assisting in the kitchen with duties such as dishwashing and basic preparation. Volunteers are scheduled for five hours of work per day and receive two full days off each week, offering a good balance of meaningful contribution and personal time to explore and enjoy the local area.

Live in Portugal: Living & Getting There

Those who live in Portugal as part of this programme are provided with shared accommodation for up to four volunteers, with breakfast included. Facilities include a communal kitchen equipped with a fridge, microwave, stove, and toaster, as well as a comfortable staff area. Free Wi-Fi is available, and volunteers can enjoy access to the gym and spa after guest hours. Arrival is simple: fly into Lisbon Airport and take a bus to Peniche, where a pick-up from the station can be arranged. The resort is located just five minutes outside town.

Live in Portugal: What Else

Peniche is a coastal gem known for its golden beaches, excellent surf conditions, and relaxed lifestyle—just a few of the many reasons people choose to live in Portugal. The town is rich in culture and history, home to a 16th-century fortress and surrounded by breathtaking cliffs. It also serves as the departure point to the Berlengas Islands, a protected natural reserve. Whether you’re seeking new experiences, looking to gain hospitality experience, or simply wishing to immerse yourself in Portuguese life, this is a truly unique way to do it.
