Live in Egypt: Volunteer Creatively at a Hostel in Dahab

Experience Dahab: Help Shape a New Hostel (Egypt)

For those looking to live in Egypt and experience more than just the usual tourist trail, this is a chance to immerse yourself in a creative and community-driven project in Dahab. Located on the Sinai Peninsula, this newly opened hostel invites volunteers to help shape its evolving identity. Since opening in February 2025, the hostel has focused on building an inclusive space that promotes cultural exchange and sustainable tourism. The host, who brings a global perspective and open spirit, welcomes volunteers who are eager to contribute their talents and explore their creativity in a relaxed and inspiring setting by the Red Sea.

Live in Egypt: Tasks & Roles

There are several ways to get involved, depending on your strengths and interests. Volunteers with graphic design or social media skills are encouraged to help develop the hostel’s visual identity and online presence. Those who enjoy engaging with people may support reception and contribute to the planning of cultural events that bring guests and locals together. Musicians and artists are also welcome to offer workshops or host creative sessions that enhance the vibrant atmosphere. This is a dynamic opportunity to live in Egypt while sharing your passions in a meaningful way.

Live in Egypt: Living & Getting There

Volunteers are accommodated in shared dorm rooms—either with other team members or with guests, depending on availability. The hostel is located in Dahab, roughly 90 kilometres from Sharm El Sheikh International Airport (SSH), with travel by road taking around 1 to 1.5 hours. Taxis and pre-booked transfers are the quickest and most convenient transport options. Budget-friendly alternatives include the Go Bus or public minibuses, though both require a short taxi ride from the airport to the main departure points in Sharm El Sheikh.

Live in Egypt: What Else

This is not just a volunteering opportunity; it’s an invitation to live in Egypt while becoming part of a project rooted in community values. The hostel actively collaborates with the local Bedouin population, giving visitors a unique and respectful insight into their way of life. Volunteers are encouraged to be part of this bridge-building process by helping organise inclusive events and workshops. Whether you’re passionate about culture, art, hospitality, or storytelling, your contributions will help shape a space that is welcoming, creative, and socially conscious.
