Panama Hostel Work Exchange – Tasks & Roles
We operate a small beach front, 7 room hostal with private and dorm rooms at Los Buzos, Playa Cambutal Panama.
Immediate need – Experienced Hobie kayak fisherman, especially with Offshore/saltwater experience.
We cater to kayak fishermen and surfers as well as local and international guests looking for active beach vacations. We also own and operate an adjacent 400 acre ranch for hiking, horseback riding, and raising cattle and goats.
We can accommodate a variety of skills and work arrangements. Our other needs include covering the hostal (starting 11/2016) when we are busy (check in and light housekeeping), gardening and irrigation, and opening and maintaining hiking and horseback trails on the ranch. Kayak fishing, SUP, surfing, hiking and horseback experience are a plus, some Spanish language skills are preferred.
Additionally at this time we have special projects for woodworkers, carpenters, artisans, and artists such as signs, furniture, etc that can also be traded for accommodation while we are updating the hostal.
We restore classic American cars on site so paint and body, and mechanical skills can be used at times.
Other special projects include IT work, trail mapping and cartography, and clerical work (scanning and spreadsheets).
Minimum stays and work weeks negotiable based on skills. Longer term stays possible based on compatibility.
Panama Hostel Work Exchange – Living
We have private rooms with AC and private baths as well as a beach front room that is not conditioned but has nice breezes and a bath house. Kitchen access provided along with basic fare (rice beans etc.) or an allowance for same.
